Purnima Shrestha Sets Record by Climbing Everest Three Times in a Single Season

Kathmandu: Photojournalist Purnima Shrestha has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first woman to climb Mount Everest three times in a single climbing season. Shrestha reached the summit of the world's highest peak at 5:50 am on Saturday, as confirmed by Rakesh Gurung, Director of the Tourism Department.
Shrestha's ascents in this spring season occurred on May 12, May 19, and her most recent summit. This season's achievements bring her total number of successful climbs of Mount Everest to four, with her first successful ascent in 2018.
This extraordinary accomplishment highlights Shrestha's exceptional endurance and dedication to mountaineering, marking a significant milestone in the history of female climbers on Everest.
